I was recently asked back for the 2017 Season of Giada Entertains. I was able to join three different shows: Giada’s Film Festival, Giada’s Valentine Dinner and Giada’s Hidden Talent.
In Giada’s Film Festival, five of us were asked to produce an individual mini-film using only our phones. We were to bring them to Giada’s home for a night full of drinks, appetizers and laughs. I decided to do a silent comedy in which I reenacted one of Giada’s episodes. Needless to say, my version did not go as smoothly as Giada’s episodes always do. My film definitely started the night off with many laughs and at the end of the night, I was awarded “Best Actor in a Comedy.”
In Giada’s Valentine Dinner, eight of us were presented with a wonderful intimate dinner. As we all arrived, we mixed and mingled over cocktails and appetizers. Giada called me to the kitchen and gave me a quick lesson in cutting a delicate pastry filled with delicious beef tenderloin. After we got the main dish sliced just perfectly, she gave me a few easy tips on plating and presentation. During the party, Giada paired everyone off to play a game of “get to know someone better.” I ended up being Giada’s partner and we went back and forth having a great time learning a few things about each other that we didn’t know before the party. By the end of the night, Giada challenged me to a Cheesecake Bake-off. (She doesn’t know what she is getting herself into.)
I fell into the third episode, Giada’s Hidden Talent, by opening my big mouth. When Anne (Giada’s Producer) and Giada were talking about the upcoming episode, I mentioned my hidden talent and I was pretty much told I must show up and participate on the show. How could I tell Giada “no”? The show was a blast. I was excited to see the fiery red hair of Alie Ward as I pulled up to Giada’s house and realized she was also on the show. Alie and I instantly connected and could not have had more fun. During the talent show, Giada served us cocktails and finger foods. At some point, after a few cocktails, we presented our talents. The laughter continued through each talent and we ended the show watching Giada show us how to make a balloon octopus. I have a new found love for Giada’s candied pancetta coupled with her secret recipe for mojitos. You can find all the recipes at
